Programs
Programs4Pain are education intensive group and individualised interventions based around developing "tool box" strategies for clients to manage their pain whilst sensibly increasing their functional levels. Group options range from introductory 3 day Functional or Cognitive-Behavioural Education, to our intensive 6 day Integrated Pain Rehabilitation program. Clients options also include individualised pain management programs, tailored around their normal activities of daily living..
Our 3 or 4 day Group Functional Rehabilitation Programs are best suited and utilised, as well as most effective for, candidates who:
- Are 6 to 26 weeks post injury or incident and there has been a failure or lack of progress with medical, allied health and/or surgical treatments
- Where further surgery and investigations aren’t indicated
- Further Specialist Back/Pain Programs aren’t necessary or suitable, given certain exclusion criteria or other considerations
For specifically differentiating between each type of our interventions the following further suitability criteria would include:
3 Day Group Functional Rehabilitation Program:- There has been a failure of medical and surgical treatments
- Patients have a poor understanding of their situation/injury
- Flag signs
- No flags but complex multi- trauma
4 Day Group CBT Pain Management And Functional Rehabilitation Program:
- Belief that the condition is harmful or potentially disabling
- Avoidance and reduction of activities including Return to Work in anticipation of pain
- Low mood, self-efficacy or altered behavior responses and withdrawal from social interaction
- Expectation that passive rather than active treatment will help the pain
- Sever injury/multi-trauma with complications
- There has been a failure of medical and surgical treatments
- Improve the patients understanding of their situation
- Flag signs
5 Day Group Specialist Pain Management And Functional Rehabilitation Program:

6 Day Group Specialist Pain Management And Functional Rehabilitation Program:
These programs are more appropriate for individuals requiring more specialised interdisciplinary management. Typical candidates include those with the following presentations:
- Belief that condition is severely harmful or potentially significantly disabling
- Avoidance and reduction of activities including Return to Work in anticipation of pain
- Low mood, self-efficacy or altered behavior responses, or withdrawal from social interactions
- Catastrophic tendencies inclusive of significantly altered cognitive-behavioural function
- Expectation that passive rather than active treatment will help the pain
- Significant issues with medications and or other General Health concerns i.e. Addiction, Tolerance, Contraindications or Ineffective medication regimes
- Severe injury or multi-trauma with complications and more than 26 weeks since the onset of injury
- There has been a failure of medical and surgical treatments
- Improve patients understanding of their situation
- Flag signs
